We are excited that you will soon be at Baylor! As you prepare for your arrival, below are some very important things for you to remember!

For the Spring 2019 semester, the arrival date for all incoming international students is Wednesday, January 9, 2019. This is on your I-20 or DS-2019, and you are expected to check-in with our office that day. Please come to the Center for Global Engagement in the Hankamer Academic Building Room 160 to check in. If you arrive before the Arrival Date, you will need to make plans to stay in a local hotel.

Move In

For those who will be living in on-campus Baylor housing, you may move in to your residence on the Arrival Date, Wednesday, January 9, 2019, between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm. (If you arrive after 5:00 pm, you will not be able to get your Student ID which is required for move in, so you will need to make hotel arrangements for that evening and move in the next day.) 

International students are permitted to move in on January 9If you receive an email from Baylor Campus Living and Learning saying that you have to move in on January 10 or later, you may disregard that email.

*Please note that if you will be living in Browning Square or the Quadrangle you may move in to your apartment the day your lease begins.*

Transportation to Baylor 

On Tuesday, January 8, 2019, we will have transportation from the Waco Airport to several hotels in Waco. We will only deliver students to the hotels on the transportation list. If you stay in a hotel that is not on that list, then you will need to make your own transportation arrangements. The hotels where drop off and pick up will be provided are:

On the morning of Wednesday, January 9, 2019, we will also provide transportation to campus from the designated hotels on the list. We will pick up in the morning. You must be in the hotel lobby ready to leave by 8:00am if you want Baylor to bring you to campus.

On January 9, 2019, we will also have transportation from the Waco Airport and Bus Station to the Baylor campus.

Click HERE to access the International Arrival Form to sign up for Transportation to Hotels from the Waco Airport or Bus Station on January 8, and then to Baylor Campus on January 9, and for Transportation directly from the Waco Airport or Bus Station to Baylor Campus on January 9 through the International Arrival Form. (We only pick-up from the Waco airport, not Dallas, Austin, or Houston.) Be sure to select "Spring 2019" when beginning the form. 

NOTE: If your flight or bus arrives to Waco on January 9 BEFORE 4:00 pm, you will be transported to the Baylor Campus. If your flight or bus arrives AFTER 4:00 pm on January 9, you will need to make arrangements to stay in a local hotel, and plan to move in on January 10. We will only transport to and from the hotels listed above.

Immigration Sessions

You must attend an Immigration Session.  This is REQUIREDYou must be on time when the session begins; if you are late, you will not be allowed to enter and you will have to attend a different session.  The session lasts for 2 hours and you must be there the entire time. If you do not attend, a hold will be placed on your account.

The Immigration Session for all incoming F-1 students will take place on Tuesday, January 15 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. in Hankamer 261.

The Immigration Session and Advising for incoming J-1 exchange students will take place on Thursday, January 10 at 1:00 p.m. in Hankamer 260.

Global Bears Week

Global Bears Week is our office’s New International Student Orientation that runs from January 9 to 11, 2019.

*All students are required to check in with CGE in Hankamer Academic Center Room 160 between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm on January 9, 2019.*

A detailed schedule will be given to you when you arrive on January 9, 2019. 

When you arrive, you will be greeted by CGE Ambassadors who are current Baylor students, both U.S. and International, whose job is to welcome international students and scholars to campus, accompanying you on cultural trips, and helping you during your time at Baylor.  Please make plans to join us on Friday, January 11th at 11:30 AM at the Green and Gold Luncheon where Baylor’s President and many of our faculty members will personally welcome you to Baylor University.
