In Memory of Jane Meyer
Baylor University mourns the loss of longtime friend and philanthropist, Jane Meyer. Honored as a Baylor Founder for her support of the university, Jane’s strong Christian faith informed her philanthropy, and as president of the Paul and Jane Meyer Family Foundation, she built upon a legacy of generosity toward Baylor’s students. The Meyers established the Paul J. Meyer Christian Leadership in Business Endowed Fund to promote a Christian perspective on business leadership. Gifts can be made to this fund to honor her memory.
In Memory of Steve Hunter
Steve Hunter’s love for Baylor and Baylor Athletics spanned more than 55 years. From the 1974 SWC Championship, to seeing the 2004 Tennis team as they brought the first National Championship to Baylor, to the first of three Lady Bears Basketball National Championships, to Back-to-Back Big 12 Championships, and the joy of our Men’s Basketball National Championship in 2021, his passionate support and belief that Baylor’s mission to win with integrity and build champions for life was unwavering. Steve established the Hunter Family Endowed Scholarship in Athletics to foster the spiritual and athletic growth of our Baylor Athletes. Gifts can be made to this fund to honor his memory.
In Memory of Kathy Tinius
Baylor University mourns the loss of beloved alumna, Kathy Tinius. Kathy had a lifelong love of Baylor, which was reflected through her faithful support of the Louise Herrington School of Nursing and the Film and Digital Media department. Kathy established the Tinius Family Endowed Fund in Film and Digital Media for Baylor in LA through which she hoped young, Christian people could achieve their dreams and provide a positive influence in the entertainment industry. Gifts may be made to this fund to honor her memory.
In Memory of Sangwol Lee
Sangwol Lee and her husband, Dr. Kwang Lee, loved to share the Good News of Jesus Christ to students, her talent in hospitality and discipleship impacted many students and visiting international scholars over the years at Baylor. Earlier this year they established the Dr. Kwang and Sangwol Lee Endowed Scholarship in Electrical and Computer Engineering to assist deserving students at Baylor. It was their desire to share the blessings received from God, spiritual as well as material, to students who are in need. To honor Sangwol’s memory, her family requests gifts be made to this fund.
Kate Alison Bronstein Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund
During her time at Baylor University, Kate Bronstein touched many lives through her kindness and her servant heart. Following her death in a car accident during her sophomore year at Baylor, her family and friends continue to celebrate her life through the Kate Alison Bronstein Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund.
David Grotberg Endowed Scholarship Fund
David Grotberg was a visible presence at Baylor. He was an Honors Program student, a Baylor Interdisciplinary Core member, a University Scholar, as well as a prominent member of the Golden Wave Band. Beyond his many activities and accomplishments, David was loved deeply by fellow students and faculty. To honor his memory, you can designate a gift to the Endowed Scholarship bearing his name.
In Memory of Rev. George A. Haile
In 2020, Steven and Kimberly Follis established the George Allen Haile Endowed Scholarship Fund in Truett Seminary in honor of his grandfather, the Rev. George "Bub" Allen Haile. Rev. Haile ministered to college students and congregations throughout Louisiana for over 40 years and voraciously pursued education as a key enabler of his ministry. Rev. Haile's affiliation with Baylor began with his sister and continued with his son and grandsons. To honor his memory, his family requests gifts be made to the scholarship bearing his name.
