Baylor Speech, Language and Hearing Clinic
The Baylor Speech, Language and Hearing Clinic annually provides more than 10,000 hours of community service to speech- and hearing-impaired children and adults of all ages while giving critical hands-on training for graduate clinicians. The clinic offers comprehensive evaluation and treatment for a range of communication disorders on a year-round basis and, with support from the Scottish Rite, also annually hosts Camp Success, a free literacy and language program for children diagnosed with language and reading disorders. A gift to this program helps create a strong foundation for the clinic's work and supports a valuable community resource.

Each summer, Baylor's School of Education hosts University for Young People (UYP), a three-week summer day program of enrichment classes for gifted and talented students in grades 4-12. Among the young participants are students attending UYP through Project Promise, which pays for students who cannot afford the tuition. Project Promise students are selected from Waco ISD and are fully integrated in the program. Research has shown dramatic results in increasing readiness and interest in pursuing higher education among Project Promise participants. Once admitted to Project Promise, participants are eligible to attend UYP every summer through high school. With your gift, Baylor's education faculty and students will be able to continue reaching out to these gifted Waco ISD students and helping them envision bright futures.

Texas Hunger Initiative
Almost 20 percent of Texans - about 4.2 million people - are food insecure, and Texas has the fifth highest food insecurity rate among children in the nation. Since the establishment of the Texas Hunger Initiative (THI) in 2009, the program and its partners have decreased food insecurity and built sustainable models for a long-term hunger solution. Your gift will help provide the means to serve more meals to Texas children, provide up-to-date, accurate research to be applied across the country and increase opportunities to engage Baylor students in effecting systemic change to reduce suffering.
