From Our Donors: Pamela Engelke

In the late spring of my 2nd year at Baylor, my eyes turned from Waco toward Dallas. My father had a massive heart attack and was not able to work for around a year. My twin sister and I were devastated. His small business floundered and my mother went back to work to support the family. God, through relatives and our Baptist church, along with us both working at the old department store, Foley's, and a small partial scholarship helped to ensure that we continued our education - my sister at UT and myself at Baylor. The family called us the S&S girls ( the secular and the sacred). Baylor Nursing is all about humanity and community wrapped in God's love. I have made Nursing the basis of my professional life. I had help to get here. Who doesn't?
