Psalm 107:1-9
1 O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever. 2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, those he redeemed from trouble 3 and gathered in from the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south. 4 Some wandered in desert wastes, finding no way to an inhabited town; 5 hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted within them. 6 Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress; 7 he led them by a straight way, until they reached an inhabited town. 8 Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for his wonderful works to humankind. 9 For he satisfies the thirsty, and the hungry he fills with good things.
The Lord's Unfailing Love
by Henry Han, Ph.D.
‘Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever’ (Psalm 107:1).
His love and good are the power source of all his sons and daughters forever.
His love and good protect his sons and daughters to move along his path.
His love and good bring us to glory and peace.
His love and good accompany and encourage us to do the best and achieve the best to glorify him in research, teaching, and services in the academy.
‘But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us’ (Romans 5:8).
His unfailing and unconditional love feeds and embraces us even if we may not know or feel it.
His love makes us brave to explore knowledge and the world as a scholar.
His love makes us humble to serve our community and society as a citizen.
His love heals our lonely and hungry souls and brings us happiness in our lives.
His love kindly cares for us better than we care for ourselves.
His love makes us better ourselves and better our souls.
‘Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind’ (Psalm 107:31).
