Psalm 126

1 When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dream. 2 Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy; then it was said among the nations, "The Lord has done great things for them." 3 The Lord has done great things for us, and we rejoiced. 4 Restore our fortunes, O Lord, like the watercourses in the Negeb. 5 May those who sow in tears reap with shouts of joy. 6 Those who go out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, carrying their sheaves.

Great Things

by Dominque Hill, Ed.D.

Isn't it awesome to know that we serve a God of greatness? The type of God who hears us and responds? Even though we know that God is just and fair, our lives can seem unfair and unjust, especially when we experience heartache. 2020 has been a very challenging year for so many. However, God is a delivering God, and He will get the glory out of this pandemic.

Remember when you were in a situation that you were unsure of how you were going to resolve? You prayed and asked God to intervene. He may not have moved when or how you wanted Him to move, but he answered your prayers. God does great things for us like that so that we can have great joy. Not joy in our ability to find resolve, but joy in a relationship with a God who cares for us and is willing to bless us even when we don’t get things right all the time.

Remember to acknowledge God, and He will direct your path. Allow Him to be your source and supply so that your joy will be full. It is ok to cry. He promises to turn those tears of sorrow into tears of joy when we trust, lean, and depend on Him. You will be well. God is in the business of doing Great Things for those who put their faith in Him.
