Dave Garcia is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Film & Digital Media at Baylor University, specializing in post-production—in both the aesthetic and technical aspects of the craft. He is also a freelance film and video producer/editor, having worked in the industry since 1997.
He has worked on multiple productions over the years, including shorts, independent features, documentaries, music videos, commercials and training videos—most recently completing a tutorial video to help students quickly get up to speed on the operation of a color-correction control panel. His goal as a teacher is to help students hone creativity, excellence and integrity to honor God and to have a positive influence on media culture.
Dave also served on his church’s worship team for many years as a musician and technical director, and looks forward to opportunities for service in his new community at Baylor and in Waco.
Film and media production is a family affair for Dave, his wife and creative partner, Debi (production design); their son, Justin (writer/director/animator); and daughter-in-law, Rachel (creative producer/production coordinator).
