Bio
Alex Engebretson's research interests include the postwar American novel, U.S. intellectual history, and intersections of theology, church history, and literature. His scholarship includes work on such authors as Marilynne Robinson, John Updike, Cormac McCarthy, and David Foster Wallace. His articles have appeared in
MidAmerica, Southwestern American Literature, and
Western American Literature Journal. His monograph,
Understanding Marilynne Robinson, was published by The University of South Carolina Press (2017). Two forthcoming essays will appear in the edited collections
Protestant Aesthetics and the Arts (Routledge Press 2019) and Marilynne Robinson (University of Manchester Press 2019).
