The Award

The Canterbury Institute’s Barry Scholarship will fully-fund three years of doctoral studies for a DPhil in Medieval and Modern Languages (Spanish) at the University of Oxford.

At Baylor

Katerina earned her B.A. in University Scholars. She studied abroad in Madrid, and presented her research on Golden Age Spanish literature at a symposium in Madrid and URSA Scholars Week. She was a volunteer English teacher for Buckner International in the Dominican Republic and served as an international student mentor through Baylor’s PAWS program.

Her Future

After completing her DPhil at Oxford, Katerina aspires to work as a professor at a university either in the U.S. or abroad.
