The clinical experiences will be divided into 3 different portions based on clinic locations. Clinic locations include BSWH MacArthur Outpatient Rehabilitation Clinic and BSWH Southwest Sports and Orthopaedics Clinic. This ensures that the resident has adequate exposure to a variety of patients in various stages of rehabilitation of orthopaedic conditions.
A typical workweek includes 32 hours of independent orthopaedic practice, 4 hours of 1-1 clinical mentoring, and 4-6 hours of didactic instruction. The didactic portion of the residency will occur virtually and at the BU DPT Campus in Waco. Research and teaching portions of the residency will also occur at BU’s DPT Campus. The teaching portions will be during BU’s DPT musculoskeletal lab intensives totaling about 4 weeks throughout the course of the program.
