Physical Therapy
The Department of Physical Therapy at Baylor University seeks to advance societal health through innovative education, connection, inquiry, and leadership in physical therapy. We offer an innovative hybrid Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program as well as an Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency program.
The innovative Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program combines best practices in distance education, on-campus lab immersion sessions, and clinical education experiences to prepare you as a physical therapist and servant leader in this vital profession.
Through the 12-month Baylor Scott & White-Baylor University Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency, residents work across two different orthopedic practice settings (outpatient and sports) while serving as adjunct faculty in Baylor's DPT program.

More NewsBaylor University’s Robbins College of Health and Human Sciences is pleased to announce the appointment of Brian A. Young, PT, DSc, as Chair of the Department of Physical Therapy, effective May 1, 2024.
Baylor University researcher Megan Flores, PT, PhD, Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy, is working to improve the quality of life for individuals with Down syndrome. Flores is exploring whether an orthotic garment, called Hip Helpers®, could accelerate the acquisition of gross motor skills for infants with Down syndrome.
Light the Way Scholarship recipients will receive the scholarship funding during each of their two years in the DPT program. Recipients, Humberto Perez and La-Dayijah Cook, intend to impact access and representation within the physical therapy profession after graduation.
The interdepartmental collaboration, within Baylor University's Robbins College of Health and Human Sciences, allows those holding a DPT degree to earn a PhD degree in Exercise and Nutrition Sciences. The Department of Physical Therapy hopes these PhD graduates will return as faculty.
