Motorcycle Guidelines

Permits

A valid Baylor permit is required to park on campus Monday-Friday 7:00 AM- 5:00 PM.

Motorcycle Permits are physical permits (not virtual) and the sticker must be placed near the license plate of the motorcycle. Most are displayed on an 'inspection plate'.

The registered license plate information must also be correct and updated by the permit owner. 

Motorcycles are encouraged to park in specially designated motorcycle spaces.

Motorcycle permits do allow for parking in regular automobile spaces (Student zones and Non Reserved Faculty/Staff). Visit Motorcycle Permits for more information.

Authorization to park in special areas can only be granted by written permission from Parking and Transportation Services.

Motorcycle permits are NOT transferable and are only good for one specific vehicle. Contact Parking Services if your permit is lost or damaged.

Motorcycles parking on campus, displaying neither a permit nor a license plate may be towed at the owner/operators’ expense. 

OPERATION:

Motorcycles are motorized vehicles and will be expected to operate exclusively on vehicle roadways. Motorcycles are NOT allowed to operate/drive on sidewalks, grass areas or closed streets on campus. Failure to adhere to these regulations may result in a moving violation.

Motorcycle/Moped Classification 

Mopeds and motorcycles are classified as two different types of vehicles.  Motorcycles have a “rider’s saddle” that require the operator to straddle the vehicle.  Mopeds have a seat and floorboard where the operator’s feet could be placed side by side. 

Vehicles in this category with any modifications or not fitting these descriptions will be classified at the discretion of Parking and Transportation Services.
