Residents of the Waco area and surrounding counties including Bosque, Coryell, Falls, Hill, Limestone and McLennan who want to learn more about our local ecosystems and volunteer are encouraged to apply. Accepted applicants receive 40 hours of training in topics ranging from bugs to birds to water, all with a Texas focus and emphasis on our local ecosystems. Texas Master Naturalist is a service-oriented organization, please apply if you are interested in volunteering 40 hours annually following your training.
Classes occur Tuesday evenings from 6 to 8:30 pm, mostly at the Lake Waco Wetlands, Aug. 25 through Oct 13, with exciting Saturday field trips on Sept.5,Sept.19 and Oct.3rd. Your tuition fee of $150 covers all that you need to become a Master Naturalist: state curriculum, first year dues, entrance fees for field trips, snacks, and a name tag upon graduation.
