eNews: Update to Summer COVID-19 Mask Guidance

May 17, 2021

As Baylor University prepares for a normal fall, we continue to ease COVID-19 restrictions at the University.

In line with the CDC’s new guidance for fully vaccinated people, please take note of the updated face covering guidance for the campus community:

  • If you have been fully vaccinated, face coverings are no longer required indoors or outdoors.
  • If you have not been vaccinated, for your health and safety, you are still required to wear a face covering while indoors. This is very important, especially in large indoor gatherings such as at Orientation, given our current vaccine adoption rate.

Please know that Baylor's Health Management Team continues to monitor local COVID conditions and CDC recommendations and will provide updated guidance for the University throughout the summer.

Summary of additional recent actions:

Family Vaccine Clinic: Baylor Health Services will hold a Family Vaccine Clinic this Saturday, May 22, from 1 to 4:30 p.m. in the McLane Student Life Center (SLC) gym. The clinic will offer the Pfizer vaccine and is open to faculty, staff and students, as well as spouses and dependents 12 years or older. Visit www.baylor.edu/vaccine for details, including how to sign up.

Vaccination Appointments: In addition to the Family Clinic, COVID-19 vaccines are available now and throughout the summer at the Baylor Health Center in the SLC. Click here or call 254-710-1010 to make your appointment.

Confirm your vaccination: If you have already been fully vaccinated, let us know by filling out the brief form and uploading a photo of your completed vaccination card at www.baylor.edu/vaccine.

Outdoor Activities: There are no capacity limitations for outdoor activities.

Domestic Travel: Baylor University employees who are fully vaccinated can now travel domestically for university business purposes in accordance with CDC guidance on domestic travel during COVID-19.

Weekly Testing: If you are a student or employee coming to campus throughout the summer, please continue to test weekly unless you are exempt (fully vaccinated or within 90 days of a positive COVID test). See testing locations and operating hours here.
