REMINDER: Required COVID-19 Testing for Faculty & Staff

January 5, 2021

Baylor Faculty & Staff,

All faculty and staff who are working on-campus upon the return from the Christmas and New Year holiday break are required to complete a COVID-19 test through our on-campus testing provider, MyLabsDirect (MLD).

  • Completing a test and receiving a test result prior to returning to on-campus work is preferable but may not be possible based on work scheduling needs. Check with your manager regarding your scheduled return to campus work date and make a plan for when your test will be completed leading up to or within three workdays after returning to on-campus work.
  • Testing appointments must be -->scheduled online and are available January 2-8 and January 11-15 for faculty and staff in the testing tents located on campus. The specific location of your test will be selected at the time of scheduling your appointment.
  • Faculty and staff who are working remote for the spring semester or who have tested positive for COVID-19 within 90 days of returning to on-campus work are exempt from the testing requirement. Previous requested exemptions from testing for the Fall semester are no longer valid. To request a new exemption from the spring testing requirement, please fill out this form.
  • Faculty and staff who traveled internationally over the break should follow the latest CDC guidance and complete a COVID-19 test 3-5 days upon return from travel and quarantine for at least 7 days, even if a negative test is received. If no test is completed, faculty and staff should quarantine for 10 days before returning to any on-campus work.

Additional surveillance testing plans for faculty and staff beyond the initial return to campus testing requirement will be communicated closer to the start of the spring semester.

Faculty and staff located at the Louise Herrington School of Nursing, Dallas and Austin EMBA programs, and any other Baylor school or program satellite campuses away from the main Waco campus will have alternate testing requirements and instructions as communicated by their schools/programs.
