The fall semester at Baylor University is underway.

  • Baylor University's dashboard is updated daily by 3 p.m. CT and includes the daily number of positive COVID-19 test results reported among members of the University community. Daily dashboards also are available from the Texas Department of State Health Services and the Waco-McLennan County Public Health District.
  • Ongoing COVID-19 testing for students, faculty, staff and contractors continues this week. This random testing will continue weekly throughout the fall semester. More information is available in Surveillance Testing FAQs.
  • Face coverings are required to be worn by all individuals (faculty, staff, students and visitors) in ALL buildings on the Baylor campus and in ALL outside campus areas where social distancing is not possible, when in groups or where congestion is likely.

Fall Classes
  • Fall classes at Baylor University began on Aug. 24, 2020, but with a shortened fall academic calendar. The majority of course instruction on-campus will be completed before the Thanksgiving holiday with final exams conducted online in early December. University Events and Large Gatherings
  • Most University activities, events, conferences and large gatherings are suspended at this time.
  • Official campus tours are not being held at this time. However, Baylor Admissions offers a wide variety of virtual visit options for a customizable, in-depth look at what Baylor has to offer you, including live, interactive Zoom tours with a tour guide. Additionally, our beautiful campus is open for anyone to walk at their own pace using the Baylor Walking Audio Tour app. If you have additional questions, contact Campus Visits at or 254-710-8687 (TOUR).
  • The Mayborn Museum Complex has reopened to the public at 25% capacity. Face coverings are required for staff and visitors (with some exceptions). Important reopening information is available on the Mayborn Museum website.
  • Public attractions: The Martin Museum of Art will reopen on Aug. 25. Armstrong Browning Library has reopened. The Bill and Eva Williams Bear Habitat is open to visitors. Please observe posted signs about social distancing, face coverings and limit gatherings to 10 or less.
  • Due to the shortened fall academic calendar, Baylor will not hold fall commencement ceremonies on Dec. 19, 2020. December degree candidates can participate in the spring commencement ceremonies scheduled for May 2021.
  • All international travel for students, faculty and staff has been suspended through Sept. 30.
  • All domestic travel has been restricted to essential business purposes through Sept. 30. Restrictions include academic conferences and student organization travel sponsored by Baylor University.
  • Any mission-critical exceptions must be approved in advance by the appropriate business unit Vice President.
