Fifty's Nifty

Alumni who are celebrating their fiftieth graduation anniversary in 2007 are invited to attend the annual Baylor Heritage Club gathering on April 1-3. The club includes all those who graduated fifty years ago or more and inducts new members each spring. The incoming class will receive their "Golden Diplomas" on Monday, April 2, in a special ceremony, followed by the President's Dinner. The program begins on Sunday with a musical performance by Baylor ShowTime!, and Monday's events include campus tours and seminars with faculty members. Everything concludes on Tuesday morning with a full buffet breakfast. Incoming and current Heritage Club members will receive registration information in the mail by mid-February. For more information, visit Heritage Club. (Pictured, left-right, are recent Heritage Club participants Ann Williamson Karaffa '55 and Luanne Evans Klaras '55.)

Super Bowl Party
As you settle back to watch this year's Super Bowl, keep an eye out for Baylor alumnus Fred Miller '95, starting at right tackle for the Chicago Bears and wearing #69. Miller, who has been with the Bears for two years, is wrapping up his eleventh year in the NFL, having also played for the St. Louis Rams and the Tennessee Titans. He already owns one Super Bowl ring from the Rams' victory in Super Bowl XXXIV. Miller was a four-year starter at Baylor and two-time all-Southwest Conference pick. He and his wife, Kimberly Poston Miller, MBA '92, have two sons.
Joint Effort
Phallan Davis '05, a former student writer for the Baylor Line and the alumni association's Between the Lines e-mail newsletter, recently joined the staff of the Baptist Joint Committee in Washington, D.C., as associate director of communications. As a student, Davis also held a communications internship with the Houston Astros Baseball Club and interned with the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation in Washington. On the Baylor campus, she was news editor of Focus, Baylor's student magazine; president of the Society of Professional Journalists; and a writer for the Round-Up yearbook.
Historic Preservation
On January 2, Marcus Warren Watson '94 began a new job with the City of Dallas as a senior planner in the Historic Preservation Division. Watson ended eight years of service as the heritage preservation officer for the City of Plano, where he established the city's first two Heritage Resource Districts. After graduating from Baylor with a degree in real estate and marketing, Watson earned a master's in historical preservation from the University of Georgia. He is the son of Murray Watson Jr. '52, JD '54, and Greta Warren Watson '59.
