The Willow Creek Leadership Brown Bag Luncheon Series will meet once a month to watch several of the best speakers from recent events. The Willow Creek Leadership Summit is held each August in Chicago bringing together some of the brightest, most articulate leaders sharing their insights into opportunities, challenges, traits and skills of leadership. This series pulls from the DVD collections from recent Summits. This month our topic is: The Mental Toughness of a Leader with Jack Groppel. |

Suicide Prevention - QPR Gatekeeper Training Course November 4, 2009 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Robinson Tower-451 |
The goal of the QPR Gatekeeper training program is to increase the probability that a potentially suicidal person will be identified and referred for assessment and care before an adverse event occurs. National data show that 10% of students seriously consider suicide and 1.5% of students attempt suicide each year. The purpose of this course is to provide training to faculty and staff on how to talk to students at risk of suicide. QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer – three simple steps to follow when talking to someone who may be at risk of suicide. Participants will learn to do the following: (1) Recognize the warning signs of suicide (2) Know how to offer hope (3) Know how to get help and save a life. |

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services recently released a new revised Employment Eligibility Verification Form (I-9). Thus, Human Resource Services is offering this course on completing the new Form (I-9) specifically covering the recent changes and common misconceptions and offering solutions to simplify the process. All supervisors, including those that supervise student employees, are encouraged to attend. |

This seminar covers using the CMS image and document library to add images and documents to a webpage. A large virus outbreak or computer security breach can cost the university thousands of dollars in wasted time and software expenses. Identity theft is the fastest growing crime in the United States. ITS works very hard to protect Baylor and Baylor employees from viruses and security breaches -- but the most expensive security system in the world is worthless unless the people who use the system take the necessary precautions. In this CBT lesson you will learn your responsibilities regarding IT security at Baylor. The lesson takes 30 minutes or less and you can complete it at your desk. Do you need to hire student workers, but lack the flexibility to be away from your desk for several hours to attend training? Now you can receive instruction from the comfort of your own office. Introducing computer based training that allows you stay at your office and still receive the training you need. The advantages to this training include moving at your own pace, the ability to go back and refresh as needed, and a quiz at the end to check your learning. This is the first computer based training made available by POD. It is designed to make learning easier for you and you still receive professional development credit upon successful completion of the course.
