Tickets are not required for access to the ceremony. For only the May ceremonies, however, graduates are strongly encouraged to bring no more than 10 guests, to allow all graduates opportunity for their family to attend. If the total guests count exceeds a certain number, it is likely the building could be closed to additional guests. We do not want to turn away any guests who have come to see this event in your college career. Please help us in this way.
SERVICES/ACCESS FOR DISABLED GUESTS
Ferrell Center is fully equipped for ADA needs. Guests needing handicap parking or curb-side drop-off should ask parking attendants for directions to the appropriate area of the parking lot. Guests in wheelchairs or with walkers, those needing additional time to move through the building, and guests who have trouble with stairs will want to arrive in sufficient time to avoid heavy crowds along the concourse.
SIGNING FOR HEARING IMPAIRED
Sign interpretation for graduates or guests with hearing impairments will be provided for the university commencement ceremonies. Information regarding the location for this service will be listed in the back of the commencement program.
Guests are encouraged to wear dress clothes, which might be interpreted for women as nice slacks and top, a pant suit or a dress. Men should wear nice slacks and a polo or button-up shirt, slacks and sport coat, or a suit and tie.
Graduates and guests should not wear blue jeans, shorts, t-shirts or flip-flops.
Guests are asked to maintain the dignity of this ceremony. We understand your enthusiasm for graduates, however to ensure that all graduates and guests hear the names of the students, guests must refrain from loud, disruptive cheering. The use of any noise-making devices is not allowed.
