CMS Migration Project

Baylor University’s mission is to educate students for worldwide leadership and service by integrating academic excellence and Christian commitment in a caring community.

Baylor’s existing web content management (WCM) system has served the University well for nearly 20 years, and with changing digital marketing practices and technologies, Baylor’s senior leadership commissioned a group to explore the future of WCM. This CMS Working Group (CWG) explored industry trends and searched for a new WCM system to enable emerging digital marketing practices for the foreseeable future.

The CWG unanimously recommended a cloud-hosted implementation of Acquia’s cloud platform which includes the open-source content management system, Drupal, and other digital marketing platform tools created by Acquia. The University will begin implementation of this new system in 2019 to serve as the foundation of Baylor’s digital platform.

Baylor's content management system is a tool for academic and administrative units to create and manage websites.
