Residence Hall Director - North Village

What is your favorite part about being a Residence Hall Director?

The best part of the North Village community is its people, the variety of students, faculty, and staff who call it home. North village includes freshmen through seniors, men and women, students in a Living Learning Community, students outside a Living Learning Community, Faculty in Residence from different disciplines, a Resident Chaplain, and a handful of student and professional staff. North Village is a hodgepodge of personalities, ideas, interests, and needs, and that’s a big part of what makes it fun.

What does authentic Christian community mean to you?

To me, authentic Christian community means a group of people who believe in Jesus Christ as their savior and Lord. The members of an authentic Christian community love the Lord their God with all their heart, soul, and mind. Secondly, they love their neighbors, their peers in the community, with the same love they love themselves. Authentic Christian community is built on seeing and treasuring Jesus for who he really is- the Lord of the universe and savior to all who believe in him. Out of this foundation is formed a community where people, albeit imperfectly, love their neighbors, strive to put others’ needs before their own, forgive wrongs, build each other up, and above all else, live to glorify God.
