Susan Blair, OTD, OTR/L (Clinical Assistant Professor; Director of Student Affairs) has experience as a clinical OT for 33 years in all practice areas from NICU to palliative care, acute care, inpatient/outpatient rehabilitation, home health and skilled nursing facilities.  Previous positions included clinical staff developer for large multicenter hospital system for 20+ OT staff and fieldwork coordinator for same large multicenter hospital system. Prior to Baylor University, Susan was the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator and assistant clinical faculty at Pfeiffer University. Professionally, she achieved AOTA Board Certification in both Physical Rehabilitation and Gerontology.  Susan is published in a variety of publications and authored a textbook chapter as well as presented at the local, state, and national levels on evidence- based practice. Her continuing education workshop Successful Rehab for Today's Older Adults is approved by AOTA, for PESI Education, a national continuing education provider. Susan received her Post Professional Occupational Therapy Doctoral degree from Chatham University where her doctoral capstone focused on "Examining perceptions of frailty in older adults who participated in occupational therapy community education". In support of the profession’s vision and mission of excellence in the field of occupational therapy, Dr. Blair has been the Gerontology Representative on the AOTA Board for Advanced Certification and Specialty (BASC) since 2017.
