Clinical Assistant Professor

Teresa Fair-Field is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Baylor University Doctor of Occupational Therapy program.  Dr. Fair-Field earned her B.S. in Occupational Therapy at Pacific University (OR, 1993) and her Occupational Therapy Doctorate at Chatham University (PA, 2016).  She has worked through the lifespan from early intervention and the school-age child through acute care, out-patient, home health, and an ALS Center of Excellence.  Her career specialties include both adult neurorehabilitation and pediatrics.

Dr. Fair-Field holds certificates in Sensory Integration® (WPS/USC) and CDP credential with the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners. She has held roles in hospital management in a major metropolitan PM&R department, as well as small business development as the owner/operator of a pediatric clinic with an OTR/OTA collaborative practice.  Her doctoral capstone presented a clinic-based parent coaching model to improve the living skills of children with autism. In scholarly practice and research, Dr. Fair-Field is a co-investigator on the Seattle-based Early Markers development team whose work in infant motor research is supported by SBIR (small-business innovation research) funding.  Using machine learning and clinical/research expertise, the team of entrepreneurs, clinicians, academicians, and developers is at work on building an automated, low-cost, smartphone-based early developmental screening tool that can be easily administered by clinical staff in a pediatric setting with a vision towards early identification of developmental delay, improved access to evaluation and early-intervention (EI) services, and the equitable and widespread delivery of evidence-based parent support and education.

In support of the profession’s vision and mission of excellence in the field of occupational therapy, Dr. Fair-Field is proud to serve on the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) Roster of Accreditation Evaluators.
