Dr. Watson is a part time lecturer in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. She holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association (ASHA) and has worked in various clinical settings since 2007. She is an Assistant Professor at Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN where she has served on the faculty full time since 2016. Dr. Watson has presented at state and national conferences and has a primary research interest in language assessment, particularly with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse populations.

Dr. Watson is married to Chase and they have one daughter, Charli. Dr. Watson is an active member of her church where she is a member of the choir and technology team.

Academic and Research interests include dynamic assessment, school based issues, cultural and linguistic diversity, as well as issues in higher education.
