Introduction

Before coming to Baylor in 2019, Dr. Michaelson was a lecturer at Auburn University where she also completed her graduate studies in Consumer & Design Sciences with an emphasis on functional apparel design. Prior to her graduate studies, she lived in Southern California where she obtained industry experience in the design and production of swimwear, contemporary women's, leisure wear, and children's apparel. Her research focuses on improving the psychological, physiological, and physical well being of individuals through apparel. Her research experience has been on recreational sports (SCUBA, rock climbing, & swimwear), professional sports (compression apparel & postural correction), occupational apparel (wildland fire fighting), and medical apparel (therapeutic compression).
