At the core of Dr. Footer's clinical practice and academic career lies a strong ethical foundation that balances power, privilege with humility, and perspective in preparing future leaders to meet the growing needs for rehabilitation around the world. Her passion for neurology, pediatrics, and global health is evidenced through a longstanding commitment to the development and advancement of physical therapists through educational initiatives in the United States, Ethiopia, Kenya, and China. Dr. Footer is inspired by the pioneering efforts of humanitarian leaders who sought equality and social justice for those living at the margins. It is in this spirit that Dr. Footer acknowledges her privilege to teach in the classroom; to learn with and from others; to expose others to global community engagement; and to personally witness the transformation of each individual along his or her life journey!
