ALLELUIA YOUTH COHORT

ENGAGING A NEW GENERATION IN THE CHURCH:

Youth who are interested in worship leadership and improving the quality of worship in their local congregations often have very limited opportunities for affirmation and training. Limited interaction with the church’s pastor or worship minister and private musical instruction may be their only connections. There is a critical need for high-quality training and in-depth spiritual formation/vocation discernment beyond what the local church can typically provide.

Similarly, ministry leaders need new, creative ways to engage their youth members to continue reaching a new and ever-changing culture. Our desire is to encourage discussion and share intergenerational leadership practices that will positively impact music and worship ministries.

Participating programs will receive a $1,000 annual stipend for contributing to the important discussions within each cohort and attending Alleluia. Covered expenses for participating congregations include: an annual meal with ministry leaders in your cohort region and registration fees, lodging, and meals at Alleluia.

EXPECTATIONS

1. ENGAGE IN DIALOGUE & DATA COLLECTION
The first step for partnership congregations is to schedule an in-person or phone conversation with one of our team members. During the on-boarding stage, we will provide a number of short surveys to complete online as well as an overview of your church's ministry layout and participation estimates.
2. PARTICIPATE IN ALLELUIA 2020
Join us in Waco, TX for the 19th Alleluia Conference July 20-24, 2020. Assemble a team of five (5) student vocalists (SSATB, SAATB, SATTB, etc.) and either one (1) or two (2) ministry leaders. Registration fees, lodging, and meals will be provided for all participants from cohort congregations.
3. ENGAGE IN MINISTRIES AT HOME
Take the leadership techniques and musical skills acquired at Alleluia and serve within the local church. Ministry leaders will be encouraged to create a plan for including youth leadership in worship over the next year. Participating congregations will receive a $1,000.00 investment in your ministry for each year of engagement.
4. JOIN IN THE DISCUSSION LOCALLY
Join with other churches in your regional cluster to discuss takeaways from your time at Baylor and how students are engaging in the life of the church in new ways. Baylor will coordinate this interaction and provide a meal for participants.
5. RETURN TO ALLELUIA 2021
Join us again for Alleluia July 19-23, 2021 to participate in the continued conversation and learning. Assemble a team of five (5) new OR returning student vocalists and either one (1) or two (2) ministry leaders. Registration fees, lodging, and meals will again be provided for all participants.
