Rebecca Dyer

Class of 2020

Account Manager of Inside Sales for Dell Technologies

The Career Center sent me weekly emails with recommended job listings which I took advantage of because they were so personalized to what I was looking for. They helped me by, not only sending me job recommendations, but also by providing encouragement and offered lots of needed advice. I would not have gotten this great of an opportunity if I hadn't stayed in contact with the Career Center and used Handshake.

Be persistent. Since moving back home in August, I had applied to 134 different jobs over the course of 4 months. Before I accepted my offer with Dell, I had turned down an offer with a company that was good, but was not going to take me in a direction I wanted for my life. Two months later, in the same week I received my Dell offer, I was in the middle of a lengthy interview process with a wonderful company where I got to do what I wanted, but wasn't offering me enough. I am fortunate to be in a position to be picky enough to turn down an offer months ago and then be able to choose between two wonderful companies within a week.

Be persistent, but also fight for what you want.
