In her current role here at the Career Center, Desiree leads a team of Career Success Professionals, and together they provide career support to students in the Robbins College of Health & Human Sciences, School of Education, School of Music, and the Diana R. Garland School of Social Work. In addition to providing career coaching to students, her team connects students with job and internship opportunities, builds relationships with employers, and assists with career events and data collection. She also serves on the Career Center senior leadership team.
Desiree has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis, and a Master’s degree in Industrial and Labor Relations (a.k.a. Human Resources Management) from Cornell University. Before her time at the Career Center, she previously was an Employer Relations Specialist with the Office of Career and Professional Development (CPD). In that role, she coordinated career events and connected students with employers in a variety of industries. Prior to joining CPD in 2016, she worked in human resources at various Fortune 100 companies, including AT&T, Procter & Gamble, and United Technologies.
Born and raised in Plano, Texas, Desiree enjoys traveling with her husband and family, spending time with her friends and church community, and performing with the Waco Civic Theatre in her free time.
