Requirements to Enter the SLC

Campus Recreation is making changes to the entrance process to ensure our member's safety. Note the processes below (subject to change as needed).

  • Be prepared to wait in line when you arrive.  Single entrance lanes have been established for patrons entering and exiting the SLC, which may cause congestion at the entry points during peak times (e.g. before class times)
  • Be prepared to show your Baylor ID Card to a Front Desk attendant as you enter
  • Be prepared with an alternate form of government-issued, photo ID. The biometric hand scanner has been removed to reduce contact points
  • Be prepared to visit the Member Screening area across from the Front Desk if you are visiting the Health Center, Counseling Center, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy or Massage Therapy areas of the SLC.
  • Guest passes are temporarily unavailable at this time

The SLC Indoor Basketball, Volleyball and Racquetball court use will look different than the last time you were here!  Below are a few of the changes implemented in compliance with University guidelines and for your safety.

  • Entrance and Exit signage has been added. Please follow the signs for entry and exit.
  • Additional recreational games have been added to the courts for your enjoyment, including Table Tennis, Spike Ball, and Ladder Golf.
  • Masks are required at all times, even while exercising.
  • Volleyball: 4 players per side maximum.
  • Basketball: Shoot around only. Maximum 3 players per hoop.
  • Racquetball Courts: 2 players maximum.
  • Physical distancing markers and stickers have been placed on the bleachers to remind you to maintain physical distancing expectations.
  • Campus Rec staff will monitor all activity spaces around the SLC to maintain the 50% of full capacity rule. When necessary, we may limit the number of patrons in a specific area of the SLC to the 50% capacity rating. Campus Rec staff are available if you have any questions.

Fitness Center

While the main areas in the Fitness Center are open, there are some alterations to your workout that you will need to consider for your health and safety, as well as the health and safety of others. These include:

  • Face masks/coverings are required, even while exercising or lifting.
  • Workout towels are still required, and towel service remains available
  • Some equipment is unavailable to comply with social distancing recommendations. Do not use this equipment.
  • STOP & GO TAGS have been added to each piece of equipment. Use only those pieces of equipment that show the “GO” side of the tag. When finished with your workout, wipe down the equipment and flip the tag to “STOP.”
  • Wipe down equipment after each use. Our Fitness Center staff will also clean equipment regularly.
  • Water Fountains are available for bottle-fill only.  Bring your own water bottle
Member Health and Safety

Campus Recreation is wholly committed to providing a safe and enjoyable workout experience for Baylor students, faculty, staff, and families. Here are a few of the things we have implemented in our facility for the benefit of our members:

Wearing of a facemask is required during an employee's shift, and gloves are required while cleaning equipment.

Campus Rec staff will follow Texas State Guidelines and clean equipment before and after every use.

Workout area equipment is cleaned regularly with industry leading, cleaners before and after members use the equipment.

Workout equipment has been spaced out to follow physical distancing guidelines. In spaces where moving equipment is impractical, machines are clearly labeled "Unavailable." Equipment is rotated regularly to maximize usage and maintenance.

Hand sanitizing stations are placed throughout the building. Over 20 stations are available for use.

Signage and directional cues are placed around the building to maintain physical distancing guidelines while you move around the SLC. Doors are clearly marked Entrance Only or Exit Only.
