Chris Gomez is originally from Baird, Texas, but has also lived in San Angelo, Marble Falls, and Huntsville before landing in Waco, Texas. Chris completed his Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with Minor in Kinesiology from Angelo State University, and will complete a Masters in Project Management from Sam Houston State University in December 2018.During his time at Angelo State, Chris discovered camp ministry and also played club soccer. Chris grew his love of serving others into an 18-year career in camp ministry, helping to develop his passion for leading and growing student leaders in an environment where people encounter Christ. He spent 8 of his 18 years in camp ministry working at Camp Balcones Springs in Marble Falls, starting from counselor to eventual summer program director. At Camp Balcones Springs, Chris worked with executive retreat groups and ran the sports programs. He also met his wife Kate, at Camp, and fell in love with the hill country. Chris and Kate have been married 14 years and have five children: Hannah, Ava, Christopher, Silas, and Isabella, as well as two four legged family members: Abbey and Jersey, both chocolate lab mixes. In his free time, Chris loves to visit different national and state parks, being outdoors, playing any sport, and spending time with his family.
