How many days and hours a week do you practice? Where do you practice?
Practices are held Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 8-10pm at Zero Gravity Gymnastics in Hewitt, TX. Members without cars normally have no problem working out carpools with other teammates.
Typically where are your meets held?
Our meets are held at other schools in Texas, and one meet is held at Baylor.
What schools do you compete against? What league are you in?
We compete against UT, Texas Tech, Texas State, A&M, Rice, Hardin Simmons, Abilene Christian, Oklahoma, and UT Dallas. We are under the NAIGC, the National American Intercollegiate Gymnastics Conference, and the TGC, the Texas Gymnastics Conference. We follow their rules, and we compete under the Junior Olympic levels 8 & 9 code of points.
What are the dues for this club team?
Dues are $150-$200 depending on the number of gymnasts. This does not include meet fees, leotards, or team pictures. This simply covers the cost of using the gym. We can offer payment plans and find a way to help anyone who may have trouble with the cost.
When is your season? Do you practice in the off-season?
We practice all year long, but the competitive season starts second semester in January.
Do you need to have experience to join?
We do not require experience; however we do not currently have a coach, so there is no one there to teach new skills. Almost all of us have experience, most members have at least level 5 experience. All of the members help each other out and have enough gymnastics experience that they are capable of working towards new skills on their own.
