Title: Modeling and Analysis of Soil-Moisture Processes in the Subsurface: The Influence of Evaporation and Salt Precipitation in Groundwater

Abstract: Understanding the land-atmospheric interaction — soil evaporation and evapotranspiration — is important to climate modeling. An assessment of carbon dioxide or methane leakage from deep geological formations to the shallow subsurface also is important as it affects groundwater quality and vegetation.
