Description | Organized and sponsored by Professor Greg Benesh and Professor Meera Chandrasekhar from the Department of Physics at Baylor University Science Thursdays is a series of one-hour long talks on various scientific topics. No science background is required, only enthusiasm for and an open interest in science. Lectures will be presented February 5, February 19, March 5, March 19, April 16, and April 30. Join us for coffee and cookies prior to each lecture at 6:30 pm. From Forests and Oceans Arise Molecules that Battle Cancer Promising anticancer agents have been found in terrestrial plants and marine organisms. Learn about some of these natural products, including those discovered in a laboratory at Baylor University that function by selectively damaging the blood vessels that feed tumors. Kevin Pinney Ph.D., is a Professor of Chemistry at Baylor University. Lectures are free and open to the public; however, admission to the museum is not included. |
