|Description||On Monday, January 12, we will celebrate the 90th anniversary of Johnson v. Darr, 272 S.W. 1098 (1925). Long before women in Texas were granted the right to serve on juries and before women served on the lower Texas courts, the judges appointed to hear the case of Johnson v. Darr were all women. This was the first time a woman was appointed in any capacity to serve on the Texas judiciary. The unprecedented nature of the event drew nation-wide attention in 1925, including coverage in the New York Times.|
Students must RSVP to Angela.
