Reconfigurable Circuit and Waveform Design for Next-Generation Cognitive Radar Systems

A rapid growth in wireless communications has resulted in spectrum being re-allocated from radar systems to communications. This has resulted in a need for a radar system that can operate in narrower bands and be able to
change its operating frequency and transmission in real time. This presentation overviews research at Baylor University in reconfigurable radar circuit and waveform design that will provide enabling technology for this future cognitive radar. An overview of the problem will be given, followed by a look forward at how our research addresses this problem.
