DescriptionJeanne Baxtresser is former principal flutist of the New York Philharmonic and on the faculty of the Juilliard School. She currently teaches on the faculty of Carnegie Mellon University. Her lecture is entitled "Understanding and Embracing Competition in Your Musical Life: Important Life Lessons." The session will promote a young flutist's appreciation of the positive nature of competition and how it can enhance one's progress. This event is free of charge and open to the public.
