This course, specifically for Building Emergency Coordinators, will provide an overview of the University Emergency Management Plan. Participants will walk through several topics such as priorities during an incident/emergency, shelter-in-place, evacuation, what may trigger such actions, and the university emergency notification procedure. In addition to these procedures, participants will be trained on A Survival Mindset: What would you do if you heard gunshots in the office next to you? Do you know how to recognize the warning signs of individuals who pose a threat? With the news reporting of such situations across the country, you need to know the answers to these questions that give you the best chance to stay alive. Learn how, with the proper mindset and the necessary tools, you can be better equipped to react with purpose and to maximize your chance of survival if involved in an active shooter situation.
