| Description | The Academic Studies Division Colloquium sponsors the Lyceum Series speaker Music Theorist Kyle Adams in a lecture, "Rap Music on Trial." This presentation examines the troubling use of hip-hop lyrics as “evidence” in criminal trials, and takes a musicological and analytical approach to demonstrate why this stems from a misunderstanding of the genre and its goals. This event is free and open to the public. Students receive recital credit. |
