DescriptionAs we prepare again to teach in a variety of modalities, we face significant work in structuring course material and re-envisioning activities and assignments. While many faculty have "learned the ropes" of online and hybrid teaching, you may still encounter questions and seek peer and expert guidance. And you may simply need a day on the calendar devoted to course-building in a structured environment.

The Course-Building Retreat, hosted by Academy for Teaching and Learning and LATS--Learning Design, supports instructors preparing courses by

  1. affording dedicated, focused time for course-building;

  2. providing a community in which faculty can encourage each other and share ideas;

  3. fostering accountability with goal-setting and reporting accomplishments; and

  4. offering immediate assistance with technical and pedagogical questions from ATL and Learning Design staff.
