Nuclear PDFs & the Electron Ion Collider: From Quarks to Hadrons
The Electron Ion Collider (EIC) is a proposed new US based facility which will collide electron beams with nuclear beams to study the nuclear structure. In particular, the EIC will explore the perturbative--nonperturbative interface to understand how quarks and gluons coalesce into hadrons. The EIC has been strongly endorsed by the US National Academy of Sciences and is moving toward a DOE C0 decision point. As we design the EIC machine and detectors, it will be crucial that we can present accurate simulations of the electron-nuclei collisions which will populate the data; this is the goal of the nCTEQ collaboration.
