If You Can’t See An Exoplanet, How Do You Know It’s There?
The search for new planets intensified with the launch of the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS). Unlike previous survey missions, TESS is sweeping up large areas of the sky and generating massive amounts of data, so massive that amateur astronomers are being recruited to participate in the program. I will discuss the methods used to discover exoplanets, and the current work of the CTAS TESS team.
