New Insights From Old Dirt
Paleosols are soils that were once at the Earth's surface, but were subsequently buried and preserved in the geological record. Paleosols encode important information regarding past Earth climates, landscapes, and atmospheric chemistry. I will highlight some of the methods used to study paleosols and provide examples of paleoenvironments reconstructions of the near and very distant pats.
