DescriptionEnhance your professional practice by learning to recognize and identify the types of childhood trauma and gain practical tools for your work with clients. Bethie Timmons and Telawna Kirbie will use the findings of the ACE (Adverse Childhood Experiences) study to examine the effects of childhood trauma on emotional, relational, and psychological development. You will consider ways to mitigate the effects of trauma through the use of specific trauma-focused interventions and explore an approachable examination of how brain development and functioning can be altered as a result of traumatic experiences. LPC and social work CEUs are available.
