Astronomy for Beginners: Observing the Night Sky

DescriptionThis course is the perfect introduction to amateur astronomy for all who find themselves drawn to gaze at the starry sky. Richard Campbell will teach you about stellar and celestial objects and their motion, binoculars, and telescopes. Through outdoor night-sky observation using a variety of observational tools, you will learn to identify constellations and other celestial objects with a planisphere and digital programs. The final class session is an exclusive tour of the Paul and Jane Meyer Observatory (students will need their own transportation). All equipment is provided, including a textbook and planisphere to take home. Please register by Jan 24.
