Art Explorations: The Art of the Book

DescriptionCome create a variety of handmade books and innovative book structures that can be used as a platform for a variety of creative work such as writing, journaling, painting, poetry, calligraphy, and photography. With instructor Sha Towers, you will produce a set of sample books (single-page book, accordion book, the reverse hinge binding, woven accordion, blizzard book) to take home and use as reference and inspiration for further projects. You will also explore Baylor's extensive Book Arts Collection to see some of the many amazing ways that artists are using the book as their artistic medium. Most supplies are included in the registration fee, although students will be required to bring a set of materials valued around $55 (materials list provided on the website). Please register by May 21.
