A Career in Pharmacology: From Undergraduate Studies to Professor to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

This presentation will inform undergraduate and graduate students about career choices in biomedical sciences, namely, pharmacology. Pharmacology is the basic medical science that studies the properties and reactions of drugs in relation to their therapeutic value for treatment of human diseases and for research. The relationship between pharmacology and toxicology will be addressed.

Choices that the speaker has made in a career as a pharmacologist both as an academician and as a government regulatory scientist will be presented. The presentation also will provide general insights about other disciplines in the academic and regulatory agency settings.

A reception will follow the presentation on the second floor E-wing elevator landing, 4:45-5:45 p.m.
