| Description | The Armstrong Browning Library and the University of Strathclyde in Scotland will host a hybrid online and on-site symposium marking the 175th anniversary of Elizabeth Barrett Browning's "Cry of the Children." The symposium will consider Browning's poem on its own and in the context of other Victorian-era working-class literary culture. The symposium will take place October 4-5, 2018 and will feature plenary sessions that are broadcast to each site, and additional content local to each site.
