Stress and Your Health
How does the brain link psychological stress with cognitive, biological, and behavioral changes that matter for health? I will discuss how psychological stress contributes to the development of cardiovascular disease and how individuals differ drastically in the way they biologically respond to stress. I will also discuss recent evidence examining how the brain and heart react to psychological stress.
Annie Ginty (Ph.D., Birmingham) is an Assistant Professor of Psychology & Neuroscience at Baylor University.
Join the speaker and guests for coffee and cookies prior to each lecture at 6:30 pm. Science Thursdays lectures are free and open to the public; however, admission to the museum is not included.
