|Description||Baylor's Office of Career & Professional Development is hosting the HireABear career fair. This event is for students and alumni looking for a professional job and for students seeking internships! Different employers, seeking Baylor students in all academic fields, will be present with a focus of students in the college of arts and sciences, school of social work and college of health and human sciences. We expect about 75 companies in attendance with entry-level career positions and internships. While some companies do seek specific majors with in the college of arts and science, the majority of companies are open to all majors.|
This is an opportunity for you to present yourself professionally in person to a potential employer, while showcasing your communications skills. The keys to a successful job fair experience are preparation and follow up.
Here is a checklist to help you get prepared.
- Research the list of participating employers through Handshake.
- Get your resume reviewed
- Prepare your 30-second introduction
- Make sure your have a suit, padfolio, and copies of your resume
- Don't forget to ask for business cards at the career fair so you can follow-up with thank-you notes
STUDENT DRESS REQUIREMENT TO ATTEND THE FAIR:
- Professional dress preferred; business casual dress required
*** "LinkedIn" Photo Booth at the Fair ***
First 400 students and alumni attending the Career Fair can have a professional profile picture taken to add to their LinkedIn profiles.
Many companies will also be available for on-campus interviewing, both preceding and following the fair date. Check with the Career & Professional Development office for details.
